Audubon International Founder and President of the Board Ronald G. Dodson has announced that he will be leaving his position with the non-profit organization that has done enormous work in moving the golf industry towards sustainability.  Golf Course Industry has posted a recent article about Dodson and what his future may hold.

I know its a little late for posting but as they say "better late than never."  In June of 2012 Uplands Golf Club issued a press release announcing its certification as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary through Audubon International.  Congratualtions go out to Superintendent Brian Youell and all the staff at Uplands for a job well done.

Most Golf Course Superintendents these days do their best to ensure great playing conditions while caring for the environment.  Sunningdale Golf and Country Club Superintendent Tim Webb just happens to do both of these very well and is also excellent at communicating it.

The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses has released the results of its 2010 sustainability survey.  Not surprisingly, the survey shows a dramatic improvement in environmental awareness for clubs that participate in the program.

A recent survey of members of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses (ACSP) reveals that voluntary environmental actions on golf courses are indeed leading to the protection of wildlife and enhancement of wildlife habitat.

Since starting Greenside Environmental Services in the spring of 2009 I have spent a great deal of time speaking to Superintendents about the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses and the importance of golf course maintenance facilities working towards certification in the program.
